Cowlitz County Noxious Weed Control Board
Noxious Weed Control Board meetings are held every 2nd Wednesday of each month (change to this schedule is announced in The Daily News and on our website). Meetings are conducted on the 2nd floor of the Administration Annex Building: 207 Fourth Avenue North; Kelso, WA 98626 (SEE MAP). Due to the mandated social distancing requirements in place during the current COVID-19 pandemic, the public meetings may be held solely over video and teleconference. Board members serve a 4-year non-paying term position, appointed by the Cowlitz County Board of Commissioners. Board members also must live in the district in which they represent.
Notice of Term Expiration
The Cowlitz County Noxious Weed Control Board is accepting applications from residents interested in serving on the Noxious Weed Control Board. The Appointment will be conducted per the rules outlined in RCW 17.10.050. Applications will be accepted and reviewed for the following expiring term:
Geographical Area No. 2: North County; Castle Rock, Silver Lake, Toutle, Kid Valley
This is a non-paying 4-year term position appointed by the Cowlitz County Board of Commissioners (BOCC) to oversee the noxious weed control program’s policies and priorities within the County.

All applications must be completed and received by the Noxious Weed Control Program by Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Noon.
The Noxious Weed Control Board will review applications at a hearing scheduled for January 10, 2024, at 6 PM. Following the hearing, the Noxious Weed Control Board will hold their regular meeting to discuss applications and recommend candidates to the BOCC for the appointment of the Area #2 position. The BOCC will appoint the new terms, which will begin March 1, 2024.
