Equipment Lending Program

The Noxious Weed Equipment Lending Program aims to provide resources for private landowners actively controlling noxious weeds by providing specialized equipment for controlling infestations. By loaning out equipment to eligible private landowners, the Cowlitz County Noxious Weed Control Board protects surrounding lands within Cowlitz County.

Landowner Eligibility

To qualify for this program, private landowners must meet each of the following criteria:

Property with noxious weeds must lie within Cowlitz County.
Eligible landowners include individuals, groups, joint operations, corporations, or other private legal entities.
The property must contain an infestation of at least one noxious weed species designated for control.

Program Process

The equipment available for this program is limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Landowners may also participate in our other programs if eligibility requirements are met.

The property owner/manager contacts us asking to borrow equipment for noxious weed removal.
We arrange a time to provide equipment.
We verbally discuss and provide handouts for instructions and safety protocols on using and caring for the equipment.
Complete the checkout form. Equipment will be checked out in 2-week increments. If the property owner needs the equipment longer, we ask that they touch base to confirm with our program and confirm that nobody else is waiting for the equipment.
Equipment should be returned as timely as possible. Late fees may apply if equipment is not returned in a timely manner.
