Data Requests

Election Data Requests are one of the many ways that candidates can reach out to the active voters within Cowlitz County. Voter data is available upon written request. It's important to remember that Election Data Requests are for political use only, not commercial. Phone numbers, email addresses, and date of birth are restricted data, and Washington State does not keep a record of political party affiliation in voter registration records. Electronic delivery is free, but please allow 48 hours for processing any data request. Full pricing can be found on an Election Data Request Form.

Registered Voter List

A Registered Voter List is a great tool for candidates to see the voters within a specific district or county-wide. Unless otherwise specified, you will receive the list in an Excel spreadsheet.

You can request:

  • Name;
  • Precinct;
  • Registration Date;
  • Residential Address;
  • Gender;
  • Voter ID Number;
  • Mailing Address;
  • Birth Year; and
  • Voting History (up to 5 elections, each election in a separate spreadsheet).

Candidate Walking List

Candidate Walking Lists are helpful for "door belling" (going door-to-door to speak with voters). It is a useful tool to help you know who is an active voter in the area. Walking lists are available by precinct or district.

Walking Lists include:

  • Name;
  • Precinct;
  • Residential Address;
  • Voting History; and
  • Registration Date.

Matchbacks

Matchbacks identify voters that have returned their ballot for a specific election. Matchbacks are available for request 14 days before election day.

Matchbacks include:

  • Name;
  • Precinct Name;
  • Voter ID Number;
  • Residential Address;
  • Mailing Address;
  • Birth Year;
  • Ballot Return Date;
  • Ballot Status; and
  • Ballot Status Reason.

Senate Bill 5892 amends RCW 42.56.425 to prohibit local elections offices from producing certain records in response to a request for records or reports generated by the statewide voter database. Please choose from one of the options below if your request entails more than what is described above.
