To celebrate National Public Health Week each year in April, Cowlitz County Health & Human Services (CCHHS) sponsors a PSA contest to raise awareness about a public health issue through an informative and educational message for our community.
The 2025 winning entry was created by five Castle Rock High School students under the guidance of their teacher, Alyssa Hudson. Led by Ellie Foster, the team—Brady Hamer, Carlee Catlin, Shyleena Watkins, and Bailey Sibbett—submitted a PSA titled "POV: You've Been Catfished!" This powerful video highlights the dangers of online scams and fake identities. It tells the story of someone who believes they’re talking to a real, trustworthy person—only to discover it was all a lie. Catfishing occurs when someone deceives others online by pretending to be someone they're not, often for scams, manipulation, or other dishonest reasons. The PSA is an important reminder to stay cautious and recognize red flags when communicating with people online. |
