There is currently an oil and diesel slick associated with a capsized boat near Willow Grove Park. The Coast Guard and Department of Ecology are coordinating the response to the sunken vessel. The Cowlitz Co. Health Department is asking members of the public to not swim or fish in the Columbia River off of the Willow Grove Park area until the visible spill has dissipated. We also recommend not allowing pets to enter this area of water because consuming the water could make your pets ill as well.
