[ARCHIVED] Vaccination appointments at the Cowlitz County Event Center are now open for April 18

LONGVIEW, Washington — COVID-19 vaccination appointments are now open for Sunday, April 18 at the Cowlitz County Event Center.

People eligible in Phase 1A or 1B (Tiers 1-4) can begin signing up online today. If appointments are still open, people age 16 and older can schedule a vaccination appointment for this Sunday starting tomorrow, April 15 – the day vaccine eligibility expands statewide.

Visit www.co.cowlitz.wa.us/covidvaccine to schedule a vaccination
appointment at the Cowlitz County Event Center (1900 7th Ave Longview).
Vaccination appointments are available for Sunday, April 18 only.

There is enough vaccine supply to administer approximately 1,200 first doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine at the site this Sunday. Last Sunday, just over 850 people received their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine at the site. So far, 3,304 people have received their first and second dose of the two-dose Pfizer vaccine at the site since it opened in February.

Vaccination is by appointment only. Appointments must be made in advance. When scheduling an appointment online, make sure the time and day of week you select works for your first- and second dose appointments. Second-dose appointments are scheduled for the same time, day of week and location as first-dose appointments exactly three weeks later.

You can arrive to the vaccination site by car or on foot no more than 10 minutes prior to your appointment time. Drivers must go through the drive-thru line located at the 3rd Avenue entrance and walkers must enter through the 7th Avenue entrance. Please dress in clothing that allows vaccinators to easily access your upper arm.

Prior to getting vaccinated, you may be asked to provide a copy of the email or text message confirmation you received after scheduling your appointment, identification to ensure registration information is accurate and proof of health insurance. An immunization consent form must be completed prior to first- and second-dose appointments.

The immunization consent form can be downloaded from the online appointment scheduler or from Cowlitz County Health and Human Services’ vaccine webpage (additional languages are available online to view and download). You can also complete the consent form at the Cowlitz County Event Center on the day of your appointment.
