Cowlitz County Emergency Management and Health & Human Services Departments will be conducting an emergency exercise May 21-23 to test public health response to a bioterrorism event. The Washington State Annual Bioterrorism Exercise (WASABE) is conducted each year in various geographic locations throughout Washington State and WASABE 2013 is being conducted in southwest Washington. Public Health personnel need to be prepared to respond to a variety of emergencies and WASABE allows staff to train and test their response skills, as well as coordinate with local response agencies. This exercise will test local, regional and state coordination efforts to respond to a large-scale emergency event that needs fast and efficient response.
