[ARCHIVED] Health & Human Services Advisory Board Changes

The Cowlitz County Health & Human Services Department is announcing the creation of a new advisory board and committee structure which will combine several advisory boards and committees into one larger group.

Health & Human Services recognizes the benefits of the diverse knowledge and skills that advisory board members bring to the table. “The background knowledge of members remains important to the strategic direction of Health & Human Services and is needed to help in the planning and development of present and future county services and programs,” says Chris DesRosier, Director of Health & Human Services.

Health & Human Services is holding a special combined meeting of the Mental Health Advisory Board, Substance Abuse Advisory Board, Public Health Advisory Committee, Food Advisory Committee, and Developmental Disabilities Advisory Board on Wednesday, August 3rd at 1:00 p.m. All persons currently appointed to these boards and committees are invited to this special meeting which will be held in the General Meeting Room on the third floor of the Cowlitz County Administration Building. The Cowlitz County Administration Building is located at 207 4th Avenue North in Kelso. This special meeting will replace the regularly scheduled meetings in the month of August.

It is important to note that these changes do not affect the Veterans Advisory Board of Cowlitz County. The Veterans Advisory Board meets in the Health & Human Services building in the Video Conference Room. Health & Human Services is located at 900 Ocean Beach Highway in Longview, Washington. Veterans Advisory Board meetings are held the fourth Thursday of January, April, July, and October. The next regularly scheduled Veterans Advisory Board meeting will be Thursday, October 27, 2016, at 3:15pm.
