Effective January 1, 2024, Cowlitz County Health & Human Services (CCHHS) will be unable to process orders locally for birth and death certificates until such a time that a local health officer has been appointed. The public can order birth and death certificates from the WA State Dept. of Health by phone, online, or by mail. Customers are encouraged to plan ahead because the length of time it takes to receive an order through the State is 1-3 weeks as opposed to the local processing time of 1 business day. We understand that this might be frustrating for the public, and we apologize for the inconvenience.
