If you have COVID-19 symptoms, or if you have been in close contact with someone who may be positive for COVID-19, it is important to seek testing. You should get tested immediatelyif you experience symptoms OR3-5 days after suspected exposure — even if you don’t have symptoms.
Most health care facilities in Cowlitz County are offering COVID-19 testing. People who are uninsured or do not have a health care provider can contactFamily Health Center (888-528-7364) to request testing. In addition to those options, these locations are also offering COVID-19 testing locally:
▶ Rite Aid 364 Triangle Shopping Center Longview, WA 98632 Cost: No Cost Drive-Thru: Yes Appointment Needed: Yes (Register Online) (En Español)
▶ Pacific Urgent Care 900 Ocean Beach Hwy Suite #110 Longview, WA 98632 (360-648-8860) (Learn more)
If you have COVID-19 symptoms, call your health care provider in advance so the facility can take steps to prevent exposing others. Please do not go directly to a hospital for a COVID-19 test unless it is an emergency. Hospitals across the state are facing challenges with adequate capacity.
Text Message Notifications
The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) is text messaging every person in the state who tests positive for COVID-19. The text message includes a link to activate a verification code within the WA Notify exposure application.
Users can use the verification code to anonymously alert other WA Notify users who may have been exposed. Cowlitz County Health & Human Services staff also provide the verification code for WA Notify through the case investigation process. Anyone who receives the text message and isn’t using WA Notify can disregard it.
In addition to receiving the text message, people who test positive for COVID-19 will continue to get a notification from a health care provider or testing facility. Text messages will be sent seven days a week and approximately 24 hours after the test result is reported to the state. To learn more, visit the state DOH’s webpage.
