The recreational water program inspects swimming pools, spas and spray pools in Cowlitz County to ensure compliance with state pool health and safety regulations WAC 246-260. If not properly operated these pools may create public health hazards.
The health department promotes recreational water safety by routinely inspecting all regulated recreational water facilities in Cowlitz County located at hotels, motels, apartment complexes, condominiums, clubs, municipal facilities and residential communities. The department also investigates all complaints and illness reports in connection with regulated facilities and provides technical assistance to pool & spa operators.
