JULY 1, 2005 - House Bill 1240 - Excise Tax 

Real Estate Excise exempt processing fee will increase from $2 to $5 on all nontaxable

excise tax transactions.

In addition a $5 surcharge will be added to ALL excise tax transactions (taxable and

nontaxable) to fund the development of electronic transmission of excise tax affidavits.

This fee increase went into effect on July 1st, 2005 as a result all nontaxable transactions

will increase to $10; taxable transactions will require $5 in addition to the excise tax

payment.
