Cowlitz County's Excellence in Service Award 2009
Deputy Ryan Plank has been with the Sheriff’s Office for seven years. His current assignment is as the School Resource Officer (SRO) at Toutle Lake High School, and Field Training Officer (FTO). Ryan is an excellent candidate for this award in the following areas: Extraordinary excellence in service Work performance upon and beyond his normal duties Outstanding job performance Consistently high performance of duties Improvement of conditions within the department Exceptional personal qualities, dedication, performance and professionalism Deputy Plank went into a situation where there was no program in place, mandating that he work with the school administration to create a viable program with the greatest chance of success. Ryan went into the work with his normal great enthusiasm. Always with a smile on his face, he began to meet with facility and staff, and soon was making friends with the students on campus. He began building the trust that is critical to the success of an SRO program. |
