Garbage - Shrinking a Landfill
About 80 percent of our nation's garbage goes to landfills. Many landfills are rapidly running out of room; ours is expected to close by the year 2013. With fewer places for our trash to go, we'll need to start generating less by reducing, reusing, and recycling as much as possible.  Try your hand at shrinking the amount of new material going into a community's landfill.
The Transfer Site Accepts:
refuse generated within Cowlitz or Wahkiakum County only, please have appropriate identification available such as valid driver license, utility bill, tax statement, job bid, or building permit.
The Transfer Site Does Not Accept:
liquids, contaminated soil, or creosote soaked material such as railroad ties. Hazardous waste is accepted from small businesses and households through the Small Quantity Generator Program or the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program. Call (360) 577 3125 or click for details.
