Cowlitz County, in response to the Clean
Water Act and the Western Washington Phase II Municipal Stormwater Permit is
developing a Stormwater Management Program to reduce stormwater runoff and
pollution. The area affected by the permit is the unincorporated urban area
of Cowlitz County. Unincorporated areas affected by the permit are shown in green on the
attached map.

The stormwater program will focus around six minimum
control measures to improve public awareness and stormwater stewardship.
The six minimum measures include:

and educate public on local impacts of stormwater runoff.
