The Civil Division of the prosecutor’s office acts as
attorney for the county, its elected officials and its employees in official
matters. The civil deputy prosecutors prepare legal opinions for other county
department, review contracts and ordinances to determine their legality, and
provide other legal advice to county personnel in connection with official
business. By law, the prosecutor and his deputies are not permitted to give
legal advice to members of the general public.
