LIMITED EDITION DVD: R.A. LONG DOCUMENTARY "OURS TO GIVE", AVAILABLE EXCLUSIVELY AT OUR MUSEUM GIFT SHOP!

Best Kept Secret in Cowlitz County!

Did you know that we have a very unique gift shop here at the museum? Still need a calendar for 2010?  Right now you can pick up a Cowlitz County Historical Museum calendar for this new year with pictures from our extensive collection of historic photos.

Just right for a rainy day, our selection of Historical Jigsaw Puzzles are sure to bring hours of fun.  These 550-piece sets will delight and challenge the whole family.  Just right for the junior carpenter in your family, is our 140-piece authentic Log Play Sets (made from real wood)!  We have two different styles to choose from, but the selection is limited'. So be the first to buy one!

Hey, Dad'.  Do you remember flying the Balsa Wood Airplanes as a child?  (The ones guaranteed to find the closest tree or roof?)  Well, we have a great selection of the old-fashioned, rubber band-driven airplanes in stock right now.  Relive your childhood, as you share an afternoon with your child.

For those of you who want to curl up with a good book, we have several new arrivals waiting for a place in your library, including autographed copies of Vicki Selander's Castle Rock from the Images of America series. For the determined dreamer, share in the extraordinary journey of aviation pioneer Molt Taylor in A Drive in the Clouds: The Story of the Aerocar by Jake Schultz.  Coming out this February from the University of Arizona Press, Urban Farming in the West: A New Deal Experiment in Subsistence Homesteads by Robert Carriker includes the subsistence homestead project here in Longview.

If you are interested in purchasing any of these items (as well as any other we have in stock) and are unable to visit us in person, you can contact us by phone at (360) 577-3119 or e-mail at freeced@co.cowlitz.wa.us.  We would love to hear from you!
