The Indians living in our area were
later called the Cowlitz Indians. They were very clever and would
win many of the competitions and games played against other Indian
tribes. Many salmon swam in the rivers and that was the main
food of the Cowlitz Indians. They traded dried salmon for other
things they needed.
What were their canoes made out of?
