Truancy |
|
During the 1990's, the legislature
developed requirement for schools in dealing with truancy by their
students. They must now petition the Juvenile Court to participate in
enforcing mandatory attendance. Our probation staff is NOT involved in
these court processes; school district personnel, the Prosecutor's
Office and
the Juvenile Court Clerk handle these cases. The program is in a rather
constant state of flux as the community attempts to find an effective way of
dealing with truants. For further information, please contact your child's
