| Does the Juvenile
Department give tours of the facility? Yes, if you are 18
years of age or older, but only by
special arrangement with the Court Services Manager, the
Administrator or the Detention Manager [click

of control? Can you help me? If your child is not
currently on probation, we suggest contacting your school district's
psychologist or the counselors at your child's school. If they
are unable to help you, the Department of Social and Health
Services, Family Reconciliation Division, has an At-Risk Youth
Program that you may qualify for. Their contact number is
501-2600.
My child has run away. What are my options? Have
you called the police? If the child is not currently on probation,
you must report that your child is missing to your local police
agency.
How do I get my kid into detention?
We cannot place a child in detention at a parent's request unless
the child is out on bond and the parent revokes the bond or if there
is an active warrant on the child and the parent brings the child to
detention or the child has been arrested for a crime.
Why does it take so long for my case to be called into the
courtroom? Our staff makes every effort to have court
run smoothly and efficiently but there are times when the court
docket is especially long. If you are taking time off from
work or have some other serious conflict, we suggest that you let
your child's attorney and/or probation officer know, both before
your court date and on the day of the hearing.
When is my next court date?
In offender matters, we can confirm when the next scheduled court
date is. However, if your attorney or probation officer has
informed you to come on a different day or time, please follow their
instructions. We cannot
confirm the times or dates of dependency hearings. Please
contact your attorney or caseworker to confirm your next court date.
Who is my child's probation officer? If you want to
know who your child's probation officer is, please have their legal
last and first names and their birth date ready when you place the
call.
My child has been court ordered to attend school but I can't
get him/her to go. What do I do? Have you notified
your child's school attendance officer? They have the ability to file a
truancy petition with the Juvenile Department and schedule a court
hearing in front of a judge or court commissioner. At that
time, your child will have to explain to the judge why he or she is
not going to school.
How do I get
my record sealed?
