E911 Sales Tax
History
On November 8, 2016 Cowlitz County voters approved a one-tenth of one percent (.01%) sales or use tax for 911 Communications Systems & Facilities Pursuant to RCW 82.14.420.  Monies collected must be expended solely for the purpose of providing funds for the costs associated with financing, design, acquisition, construction, equipping, operating, maintaining, remodeling, repairing, re-equipping, and improvement of emergency 911 communication systems and facilities.

Cowlitz County Ordinance No. 16-160
On December 6, 2016 the Board of County Commissioners adopted Cowlitz County Ordinance No. 16-160 imposing an additional sales and use tax for emergency  911 Communications Systems & Facilities; and adding a new chapter 3.58 of the Cowlitz County Code.  This Ordinance shall take effect April 1,2017.
