Mobile Home Distraint

On March 9, 2018, the Cowlitz County Treasurer filed Notices of Distraint with the Auditor's Office against 50 manufactured homes whose accounts had outstanding 2017 or prior year tax balances. The land beneath these structures is not involved in distraint. A current list of structures involved can be viewed here.

The owners have until 4:30pm May 18th to pay all 2018  and prior year taxes, interest, penalties, and collection charges by cash or cashier's check. If a manufactured home's taxes are not remedied by that deadline, it will be available to be purchased at 10:00 am on May 21, 2018 during the live auction.

The auction will be held in the 3rd floor General Meeting Room at 207 N 4th Ave Kelso, WA 98626. Registration begins at 9:30 am on May 21, 2018.  Bidders must come prepared with the amount of funds they're willing to spend, as payment is required immediately following the auctioning of each parcel. Cash and Cashier's checks are the only acceptable forms of payment at the auction. Bidders are not permitted to leave the event to collect funds; failure to make payment results in being escorted from the auction.

Terms and Conditions:
Carefully review the Terms and Conditions of auction if you plan to participate at auction. Capacity of ownership after purchase is not guaranteed. You must do your own due diligence prior to participating so you understand what you're purchasing at the auction. The Cowlitz County Treasurer's Office is unable to provide legal advice for type of ownership, if any, after auction. Cowlitz County does not guarantee access to a structure; it is advisable to contact the park manager or land owners prior to purchasing at auction.
