The mission of Cowlitz County Law Enforcement Records is to provide information and service to the law enforcement agencies and the public within Cowlitz County, with credibility, reliability, and efficiency.

The Law Enforcement Records Department performs many tasks for local Law Enforcement as well as outlaying agencies around the nation including but not limited to the following:
  • Data entry of law enforcement criminal and informational reports for the Longview Police Department and Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office
    • For disclosures for the public and law enforcement
    • For statistical and historical data
    • For official law enforcement purposes

  • Confirm information from and enter into state and national data bases
    • Missing and wanted persons
    • Stolen property or vehicles
    • Restraining orders
    • Amber alerts
    • Officer safety files

  • Query local, state, and national data bases to include Department of Licensing
    • For eligibility on weapons permits and purchasing handguns
    • Confirming warrants, stolen property or vehicles, and restraining orders entered by other agencies
    • Finding histories on an address or on persons for officer safety
