Blue-Green Algae
Blue-green algae is actually a bacteria, called cyanobacteria, that is commonly found in lakes, rivers and other surface waters.  Blue-green algae produce rapidly with adequate sunlight, nutrients and temperature.  There are several links below with information regarding blue-green algae.
