Jail Division
Inmate visiting both at the Jail and Online will end on January 31st 2015.

The Jail is installing new visiting equipment and changing commissary service.
The commissary service should continue on its normal weekly schedule but the provider will be changing.
Visitation service will resume once the new equipment is installed and the service is running.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this transition.
Our new service providers website will be linked once their new systems are in place.

The Cowlitz County Jail expanded it's footprint by building a new facility to better serve our community in 2005. As the only detention center in Cowlitz County, we serve Longview, Kelso, Castle Rock, Kalama, Woodland, and all of the smaller communities of Cowlitz County.

Averaging around 325 residents at any given time, Cowlitz County Jail also contracts with the Washington State Department of Corrections to house inmates who violate the terms of their post conviction supervision agreement.

The Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2003 requires Adult correctional facilities to investigate any accusations of sexual assault while in confinement.  If you have information regarding a sexual assault and would like report it, please call (360) 577-1206 or report it HERE.  PREA related criminal investigations are conducted by the Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office.  For more information please click HERE.
