who live and or work in the Cowlitz County region, and who
have no medical insurance or access to other payment sources
for medical care. |

The Cowlitz Free Medical Clinic does not see
children because anyone 17 and under in the state of
Washington may be covered by Medicaid, the Basic
Health Insurance Plan (BHP) or the Children’s
Health Insurance Program (CHIP). |

Services
Clinic services are provided by volunteer medical
professionals (physicians, nurses, behavioral resource specialist,
community outreach workers, etc.) and support staff.
The Free Clinic offers urgent medical care
exams, prescriptions, help accessing mental health and substance
abuse programs as well as assistance for qualified patients to apply
for Basic Health Insurance.
The
Free Clinic does not
provide:

Pediatric care,
- Prenatal
care or care for pregnancy related problems,
- Psychiatric
care,
- Chronic
pain management,
- Dental
services,
- Immunizations/vaccinations,
- Well
adult exams,
- Severe
trauma care,
- Emergency
care (e.g. shortness of breath, chest pain, severe pain,
fractures, etc),
- Medical
conditions that require narcotics or potentially habituating
drugs,
- Medical
conditions that require ancillary services (e.g. CT scans,
x-rays, MRI, ultrasounds, treadmills, respiratory treatments,
EKGs, etc.),
- Occupational health exams

At
the Cowlitz Free Medical Clinic, we
are committed to getting you the health care help you need either
on-site or by referral to a community
partner health care provider.
Our
staff will also help qualified people apply for the Basic Health
Insurance Plan, prescription aid programs, mental health services,
and substance abuse treatment programs. Patients will be seen by
volunteer community outreach workers,
behavioral resource specialist, nurses, and
physicians who are actively practicing in our region.
To
better serve the needs of our clients, interpreters and
multilingual health education material will be available.
