The Office of Financial Management
facilitates the Board of Commissioners’ in developing a fiscally
sound budget for the operation of County government in its provision
of services to the citizens of the County. The Office does this by
effective planning and maintenance of budgetary control over
expenditures and providing revenue forecasts and analysis of cash flow
activities of County departments. OFM acts as a liaison between the
Board of Commissioners, department heads and elected officials on financial matters.

The Office of Financial management
acts as a resource for grant management activities by collaborating
with other departments, state and federal agencies, community
groups, associations, media and citizens concerning project/program
needs; researches and develops funding sources; writes grant
proposals or reviews proposals submitted by others; negotiates
contracts, and conducts operational and financial audits to ensure
compliance with project work plans and grant terms.

The Office of Financial Management
provides coordinated centralized telephone, mail and inventory
purchasing for all county departments. It assists county
departments in purchasing office and operating supplies through
contracts with vendors and the competitive bidding process in order
to take advantage of volume and discount purchasing incentives.
