R.V. Parks and Campgrounds

The Environmental Health Unit regulates Campground and Recreational Facilities under Cowlitz County Code 18.56.   Operating an RV Park in Cowlitz County requires a yearly operating permit.

The purpose of regulating campground and recreational facilities is to ensure public health, safety and welfare of the public while in Cowlitz County Recreational Parks. The Environmental Health Unit conducts yearly inspections in the parks to ensure compliance to land use, and environmental health requirements.

The Environmental Health Unit is available year round to assist park owners/operators, tenants, and the public with concerns or questions pertaining to such issues as solid waste, on-site sewage, and water.
