On June 3, 2019, the Cowlitz County Treasurer's Office filed the Certificate of Delinquency, initiating the 2019 foreclosure proceedings against 73 parcels with 2016/prior taxes owing.
Parcels currently under foreclosure can be "redeemed" by persons with verified legal interest by payment-in-full of any and all taxes owing, including all interest, penalties, costs, and fees applicable through the date of redemption. Said payment must be made with cash, cashier's check, or by bank wire/deposit. No credit cards, personal checks or money orders will be accepted. Persons with a verified legal interest in a foreclosure property who wish to authorize a third-party to redeem said property may do so by supplying a completed and notarized Authorizing Agent Form to the Cowlitz County Treasurer's Office. The final day to redeem a property in foreclosure will be December 6, 2019.
The 2019 foreclosure auction is currently scheduled for Monday, December 9, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. to be held in the General Meeting Room on the 3rd floor of the Cowlitz County Administration Building at 207 N 4th Avenue, Kelso. View the Notice of Sale here.
