Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
The GIS Department provides mapping services, mapping software, training, and other spatially-related information to county departments. GIS also provides web-based maps for the public.
GIS data can be used to perform robust spatial analysis to assist with planning and decision making efforts. GIS has produced a 2019 road atlas that is available for purchase in the Building and Planning Lobby.
GIS Special Projects
The GIS Department is available as a resource for Cowlitz County Departments, agencies and the public. From the creation of special maps including school bus route maps, fire district maps, precinct maps, drone mapping for SAR missions, and many other quality mapping projects, the GIS Department is ready to work with you to meet your specialized mapping needs.
