The Cowlitz County Board of Health has adopted a Group B ordinance. The ordinance was adopted and went into effect on January 1, 2014. The local ordinance was proposed due to changes in WAC 246-291 Group B regulations that will affect existing systems and construction of systems. These changes went into effect January 1, 2014.
Existing systems are unlikely to see any change from current requirements in our proposed ordinance. The local ordinance is intended to maintain flexibility during initial design or expansion of Group B systems and to maintain current ongoing water quality monitoring requirements.
The Cowlitz County Board of Health held a public hearing on December 30, 2013 at 10 in the commissioners hearing room at the County Administration Building in Kelso and passed the ordinance during that hearing.
